I bought my usual size 40, but decided that they would fit better in a 39. I'm so pleased that they exchanged them with no problems and they are my favorite heels. I have very boney ankles so they are a little loose around there, but still great. I think someone else suggested that if the strap was higher it might improve the fit and I agree.

I loved the style however: 1) the ankle strap should be just a little higher up to truly fit properly on the ankle; 2) the toe strap needs to be adjustable, it was too loose thus the shoe was floppy, foot slid forward, foot not secure in the shoe, for me. I'm a true 7 1/2M. Shoe may fit someone closer to a Sz 8, or 7 1/2W??!! Your strapper shoes, I've found, don't work for me; straps too loose and no way to tighten them up. Those should hug the foot gently, feel secure on.
