The boots are a bit narrow. They look absolutely beautiful on and I received numerous compliments the first time I wore them. I added some support at the ball of foot and arch that helped with comfort.

The shoes are cute, and—as expected with Spring Step—the bottom of the shoes look like they can endure a lot of walking and provide decent grip, but I regret keeping them. When I tried them on and walked around my small apartment, they were fine, but it wasn’t till I actually walked down a flight of stairs (outside of my apartment) and to the train stop 15m away (some undulating pavement on the way there) that it became clear the shoes are not practical. They have no give in the shaft, but by the time I was in conditions to realize that, they were unreturnable. What was painful was not the arch, which is more typical of high heels, but the front of the ankles because the shaft does not bend to accommodate movement in realistic conditions. I tried unzipping them slightly, and that provided slight relief, but not enough to be truly endurable. Anymore to make them wearable throughout the day would be too conspicuous, and this method only really works if you’re wearing long pants, making outfits with shorter midi/miniskirts and shorts limited.
