Runs small, very disappointed

I have two pair of Firefly, Sz 38, bought in the past five years. If anything, they fit me with plenty of length & toe room. The newer model, even in sz 39, is too small and the toe room is terrible, much narrower than the pairs I own. They new model simply strikes me as “cheap”.

I loved these shoes (camel color), but had to return them. They're great quality (nice soft leather) and great looking. But the soles have almost no grip to them. They look dimensional in the pictures, but, in reality, are pretty flat. I tried them on on a carpeted surface and on hardwood, and was afraid slips and falls were in my future. Sadly, I returned. Anyone with balance issues or who is just klutzy should stay away from these! They do run a bit short, but I ordered my regular size and felt like they would stretch enough with wear, as most leather shoes do.

Shoe size is very small, had to return twice. Ended up not getting the shoe.

Only worn a handful of times and the side trim piece fell off (see pictures). I’m going to try to fix with a hot glue gun but the rest of the trim is already peeling away.

Bought this pair for winter. Love this style.

Looks like these could be discontinued as all models are on sale. My first pair of fireflies was purchased many years ago, when the sole begin coming apart, I bought a new pair. Now I’m adding the darker pair for winter. Love them! Beautiful, soft leather and very comfy design.

1. I should’ve listened to previous reviews. These shoes run small! However, I have two other pair of the same shoes in different colors, so I assumed the same size would be fine. I was wrong. My usual size 38 was too short and too tight. I changed for a 39. 2. Sadly, the size 39 pair were also too tight, even though the length was better. They were defective, too, as shown in the pic. The strips of leather weren’t uniform in size or in how they’re sewn, so the shoes didn’t feel the same on each foot. I would’ve liked to see if they could’ve stretched with wear, but if they didn’t, they would be worthless because they cannot be returned if worn. Plus, even though the defects were subtle, the added discomfort would’ve kept me from wearing them enough to break them in. They needed to be returned. 3. The full amount was not refunded, even though the customer service agent assured me they would be, which hurt more than the shoes. Yes, it’s only $10, but it is enough to keep me from trying another pair. Buying online carries risk. I prefer companies that remove that risk by covering returns, especially on defective products. 4. I have many, many pair of Spring Step/L’Artiste shoes. I love their designs and comfort. It grieves me that they’ve gone downhill in both quality and service.

Still waiting for exchange

I ordered my typical size and could barely get my foot in to try it on. Very disappointing.

Returned two pair as they are still running too small. First pair I ordered I used the size on an old pair of Lolipops i had but different style. Re-ordered one size up. 2nd pair still too short and sewing poor on left foot. Fit great in the heel. Have given up on this style but I liked the looks. I have a fairly high arch so maybe they would fit better on a flatter foot.

Based on other reviews, I sized up (from a 40 to 41) and I'm glad I did. The larger size fits perfectly. These shoes are difficult to get into - need a shoe horn. The leather on the left shoe was not sewn correctly in one spot and gathered slightly. The left shoe was tighter in the width than the right shoe. Seconds, perhaps I wish there was more arch support in this shoe. I will probably keep these shoes despite these issues. I will recommend in hopes you will get a better pair than I did.

I’ve had a pair of Firefly shoes for years. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten more compliments on a pair of shoes. I love them. So…I decided it was time to order another pair. Same size ….38. Could not get them anywhere near on. I wonder if the 39s will be too small. Still really cool, comfy shoes. Just size up.

I ordered these shoes in my size (EU38), but they were impossibly small and way too tight. I do not like to “size up” because that often leads to secondary issues, so I simply returned them.

I have these in a different color & I wanted the black. they are so comfy. I feel like I'm walking on clouds with little spring to it.

I have purchased numerous pairs of Spring Step Shoes and have always purchased the same size "38" and this is the first pair that was too small. The return process was very easy and convenient. I would not hesitate to order from you again.

Wonderful. Gives great support and very light. Best nursing shoes ever! Great for 12 hr shifts. Wish they would not discontinue the make.

This is a nice shoe that looks great with jeans or slacks. However, it slips off the heel so I had to put a little pad in to keep that from happening. And the insole could be better.

These shoes are the most comfortable that I have ever worn so I have worn them for many years. I have the brown and black, and even the striped ones from a couple years ago. They are sturdy and long-lasting. I know they are fine with jeans and casual wear but I have also been able to wear for more dressy occasions because they are unique and classic in a way. I have a difficult time finding shoes that fit my feet and provide substantial support while also being soft enough to be comfortable. I have always taken a size 39, 81/2, however these are out of stock, I decided to try the size 40. I am happy to report that they also work for me! Perhaps they run a little small now. I am glad I took a chance because they are no longer going to be making these fabulous shoes.

Bought them once many years ago , so I bought them a second time because I know for a fact they are comfortable and last a long time...

I bought these shoes after having bought a different pair of Spring Step shoes a few years ago. Loved those other shoes and decided to buy these in the same size. They were much smaller and could not exchange for a bigger size because they did not have it in a bigger size. So, they charged me $7 to return them. Essentially I paid $7 to try on a pair of shoes. Was not happy about that.

What a pity! I have bought several pairs of shoes from Spring Step and have been more than happy which each pair. This last order a disappointment because one of the shoes was imperfect. Sending out an order to a customer without checking for flaws seems careless to me. Have I reordered? Not yet.

Slightly wide for me especially in the heel area. Maybe my foot is narrow. This is my first enclosed shoe by Springstep.

I loved them very much and ordered the size I always do with this brand, but they were too wide and too short. Not sure why, maybe it was the style. I only own Spring Step shoes as I have neuropathy issues bad from a crush injury and they are amazing.

Foot measures 8.5-9.0 D-E width. Size 40 was just too short my toes pushed at the end of the shoe. Obviously excellent support for plantar fasciitis and Morton’s neuroma got size 41 and the fit, support after wearing this shoe to work with lots of walking in a hospital was pain free!!! If I could find this shoe in my size I’d order all the colors it’s shameful this shoe is discontinued. BUT the Emilie in the Artiste collection is comparable size up, excellent support. The quality of the leathers both styles is excellent.
