The covering on these shoes is incredibly thin and started peeling off after less than an hour of wear. The top layer literally ripped away with minimal contact — nothing out of the ordinary happened to cause it. I’ve owned many pairs of shoes and treat them all the same way, but these are the only ones that have ever fallen apart like this.To make matters worse, customer service refused a refund because they claimed the damage looked like I “scraped” the shoes. That’s simply not true — the material quality is just terrible. I expected much better for the price. Very disappointed, and I will not be purchasing from this company again.

Spring Step will not give me a refund because they said it looks like I scuffed them. However, I did not rub the shoes against anything. You can rub the top coat off with the soft part of a finger. It is that thin. I am disappointed in this company because their shoes are normally good quality. The fact that they will not stand behind their product means that they have lost my future business. I will just buy Cole Haan shoes from now on.
